Summary

 

  • build confidence in the use of e-learning with staff regardless of level or role
  • consistency and quality in the use of technology for teaching and learning
  • encourage reflective practice as much as technical expertise
  • neither a formal qualification nor an assessment though organisations may choose to use it as such
  • can be used for a single intervention or as a basis for organisational strategy
  • focus on professional development
  • allows for professional development in ‘bite size’ pieces
  • use varies between organisations and within organisations
  • staff development programmes can lead with the framework or map existing activity to it later
  • practitioners seem to constitute the primary audience
