Summary
- build confidence in the use of e-learning with staff regardless of level or role
- consistency and quality in the use of technology for teaching and learning
- encourage reflective practice as much as technical expertise
- neither a formal qualification nor an assessment though organisations may choose to use it as such
- can be used for a single intervention or as a basis for organisational strategy
- focus on professional development
- allows for professional development in ‘bite size’ pieces
- use varies between organisations and within organisations
- staff development programmes can lead with the framework or map existing activity to it later
- practitioners seem to constitute the primary audience
